Template to be reviewed by a legal professional. Replace the [bracketed] placeholders with your real details before production.
1. Purpose
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Farewell.fm service ("the Service"), operated by [Operator / company], [address], contact: [contact email]. By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms in full.
2. Description of the service
Farewell.fm lets you compose, store and share a list of songs intended for a farewell ceremony, and import or export that list to third-party services. The Service is provided free of charge.
3. Registration and account
You must provide a valid email address and choose a password of at least 8 characters, or sign in via a third-party provider. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 (or the applicable digital age of consent in your country).
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and not to: infringe third-party rights, attempt to compromise the Service's security, inject malicious code, or make abusive automated use of it. We may suspend an account for breaches.
5. Your content
You retain control of the content you create (ceremony title, message, song selection, notes). You grant us only the technical licence needed to host and display that content as part of the Service, including via a share link if you enable one. You can edit or delete this content at any time.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, its brand and components remain the property of the operator. Music metadata, artwork and previews come from third-party services and remain the property of their respective owners.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (music search via Apple's iTunes API, Facebook login, Spotify integration). Their use is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for those services.
8. Availability and warranties
The Service is provided "as is", without warranty of continuous availability or freedom from errors. We strive to preserve your data but recommend exporting your playlist regularly (JSON / PDF).
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for indirect damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time by writing to [contact email]. We may terminate an account for breach of these Terms.
11. Changes to the Terms
These Terms may be updated. The version in force is the one published on this page.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of [country]. Any dispute falls under the competent courts of [jurisdiction].
